Uno de los objetivos de mi investigación es el estudio de los factores que determinan la persistencia y evolución de sistemas parásito-hospedero, con énfasis en los determinantes ecológicos que afectan la evolución de enfermedades infecciosas. En particular, mi investigación se centra en el estudio del ciclo de transmisión silvestre de la Enfermedad de Chagas en Chile, sus determinantes ecológicos, históricos y geográficos, y sus eventuales consecuencias aplicadas. Para esto, utilizo herramientas de campo, experimentales y moleculares.
